Service Information:
The NBRHC Service of Pediatrics is an efficient and collegial group of six full time consultant pediatricians who share a busy and diverse community based group practice. The group practices out of a shared modern, furnished, “kid-friendly” office space, conveniently located just down the street from the hospital. Hospital on-call responsibilities are shared equally and involve consultations to the emergency department, rounds on an 8 bed pediatric unit and level 2 NICU, as well as attendance at high risk deliveries. On-call is home based and the NBRHC tertiary referral centre for pediatrics is CHEO.
NBRHC is an affiliated academic teaching centre with NOSM University & CHEO. The service is involved in teaching of NOSM medical students & residents and CHEO residents.

The North Bay Regional Health Centre, constructed in 2011, is a 491 bed health care organization with acute care services including a 24/7 emergency department, 16 bed Critical Care Unit, inpatient adult and pediatric medicine, dialysis, endoscopy and bronchoscopy services, obstetrics, pathology and surgical subspecialties to the surrounding catchment areas of Mattawa, West Nipissing and Temiskaming. Qualifications:
Applicants must be FRCPC pediatrics certified with a CPSO license in good standing to practice independently. Comfort with NRP and PALS resuscitation is essential.
Remuneration:
The successful candidate will be remunerated as a part of the Northern Pediatric AFP which includes a base salary and a percentage of billings top up, Hospital On-Call stipends, teaching funds and pediatric stabilization funds. Our organization has a competitive Incentive Package which includes a $25,000 recruitment incentive, $25,000 practice start-up grant, assistance with moving expenses and up to $94,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NRRRI).
