Geriatrician

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a Geriatrician to join its Specialized Geriatric Services Team. Job Description:
Serving the Northeast Region of Ontario, the North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is seeking a Geriatrician to join its team to provide inpatient consultation and community-based care to older adults, with a goal of identifying the presence and impact of geriatric syndromes, supporting patient independence and reducing the impact of frailty. Working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary team-based program, the incumbent will apply clinical leadership in conducting comprehensive geriatric assessments, treatments and/or consultations to address cognitive, functional and mobility changes.

NBRHC provides a variety of specialized geriatric services with a growing service offering that now includes a Specialized Geriatric Medicine Clinic as well as an Inpatient Geriatric Medicine Consult Team. We are seeking a Geriatrician to enhance our interdisciplinary team which currently includes Geriatric Psychiatrists, Care of the Elderly Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses and many other allied health professionals.

In addition, there are opportunities to join the faculty of NOSM University and engage in clinical teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level, and/or be involved in clinical research through our partnerships with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the Consortium of Canadian Centre for Clinical Cognitive Research (C5R).

Qualifications:

  • Applicants are required to be certified in Geriatric Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.
  • CPSO independent practice license.
  • Proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 (2 doses).

Remuneration:
This position will be remunerated with a competitive daily stipend and OHIP fee-for-service billings. In addition, NBRHC has an incentive package which includes a $25,000 return of service stipend, assistance with relocation expenses, and $83,000 via the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative.
