Position Description

General Otolaryngologist

North Bay Regional Health Centre is looking to recruit a General Otolaryngologist to join our team.

If you want to establish a community practice rich in all aspects of your field while enjoying your home/family life (cutting out the commute and high cost of living!), this job is for you!

Job Description:
The North Bay Regional Health Centre (NBRHC) is a progressive community hospital serving as a large regional referral centre for northeastern Ontario. Our Department of Surgery includes Otolaryngology, General Surgery, Urology, Orthopedics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Ophthalmology, supported by a highly skilled team of FRCPC anesthesiologists.

The Otolaryngology Service currently consists of one full-time otolaryngologist, with a second specialist joining soon. We are now seeking an additional colleague to complete a three-physician group, ensuring robust coverage and continued access to high- quality ENT care across the region.

Our state-of-the-art Operating Room features advanced technology, including the Medtronic Stealth Image Guidance System and the Medtronic NIM Nerve Monitoring System (with recurrent laryngeal nerve monitoring). We also maintain a comprehensive suite of bronchoscopes and rhino-laryngoscopes on-site. The Otolaryngology Service enjoys strong institutional support and generous resource allocation within NBRHC.

The successful candidate will receive dedicated operating room blocks and ambulatory procedure time each month, with resources flexibly adjusted to match operative and procedural volume.

Call responsibilities are shared equally among the group.

NBRHC is an affiliated academic teaching centre with NOSM University, and our ENT team is actively involved in teaching medical students and Family Medicine residents.

This position offers an excellent balance of community-based practice, academic engagement, and access to advanced surgical technology—all within a collegial, team-oriented environment.
