Position Description:
Serving the Districts of Nipissing, Temiskaming and Muskoka and the broader North East region, the NBRHC Service of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is seeking a Psychiatrist to join its team to provide inpatient and outpatient/outreach intervention to youth with severe mental illness. Working to full scope of practice, the incumbent will apply clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, treatment, and/or consultation for inpatient and community-based care.
Our inpatient service includes a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Unit (6-beds) servings individuals under the age of 18 who require acute short term stabilization and/or longer term treatment. The interdisciplinary team works collaboratively with community partners to provide comprehensive assessment, intervention and transitional supports
Our outpatient/outreach services support youth and their families in the community, providing early intervention, and assists in the prevention of hospitalization where possible. Consultation is also provided to specialized outpatient services such as the eating disorders program and the gender diversity clinic.
The service also provides specialized consultations, inter-sectoral capacity building and knowledge exchange across the North East.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Department of Psychiatry hospital on-call rota along with consult liaison services to the medical units of the organization.
In addition, there are opportunities to join the faculty of NOSM University and engage in clinical teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Qualifications
Applicants require certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be independently licensed to practice Psychiatry in Ontario by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO).
NBRHC also welcomes interest from residents in their final year of specialty training.

Remuneration
This position will be remunerated with a competitive monthly clinical stipend with opportunities for additional OHIP billing income, Northern Specialist APP, Hospital On- Call Compensation (HOCC) stipends and teaching stipends.
The hospital has a competitive physician recruitment incentive package which includes a $25,000 recruitment stipend, $25,000 practice start-up grant, assistance with relocation expenses and up to $83,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment & Retention Initiative (NRRRI).
