Hospitalists Physicians (4)

North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking four (4) full-time Hospitalists Physicians to practice with its unattached inpatient medicine program

Our Organization:
North Bay Regional Health Centre, constructed in 2011, is a 433 bed health care organization with acute care services including a 24/7 emergency department, 16 bed Critical Care Unit, inpatient adult and pediatric medicine, internal medicine and IM subspecialties (GI, respirology, endocrinology, nephrology, non-invasive cardiology), obstetrics and gynecology, pathology, psychiatry and surgical subspecialties to North Bay and the surrounding catchment areas of Mattawa, West Nipissing and Temiskaming. Onsite radiology / diagnostic imaging services include x-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography, MRI, bone densometry, nuclear medicine and interventional procedures.

The NBRHC Hospitalist Program:
The NBRHC hospitalist program manages approximately 3500 admissions annually as MRP with specialist consultation support. The program operates with three physician led teams who are supported by physician assistants. Hospitalists provide services in 1 week rotations Friday to Thursday (0700 hrs – 1700 hrs) with 1:3 overnight home call per week. A full time hospitalist physician would provide an average of 26 weeks of hospitalist service per year. Opportunities also exist to work in the hospital’s emergency department, to surgical assist, practice palliative care, and addiction medicine.

Remuneration:
NBRHC Hospitalists are competitively remunerated through a combination of hospital stipends ($4,000 per week) and 100% of OHIP fee for services billings for services provided.

NBRHC offers a Recruitment Incentive Package that includes a $25,000 recruitment stipend, a $25,000 practice start-up grant, assistance with relocation expenses and up to $83,000 through the Northern Rural Recruitment and Retention Initiative (NRRRI)

Qualifications:
Qualified applicants will have CPSO licensure to practice independently in Ontario and certification in Family Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Previous hospitalist experience would be an asset.

Applicants who have successfully completed an approved training program from the UK, Ireland, US or Australia and are board certified are also eligible to apply.
